Theodore Alatsas, Esq.
Theodore Alatsas, Esq. was born the child of Greek immigrants in the early 1970s. Growing up in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, Theodore learned the importance of hard work and dedication to his community at an early age. As an exemplary student and community activist, Theodore often volunteered his time to help those who needed it. Theodore attended Brooklyn Technical High School, New York University and St. John’ s University School of Law. During his early 20s, Theodore worked his way through college and law school, while at the same time actively participating and leading various civic organizations.
Among these organizations are the Avenue U Merchants’ Association, Citizens for Neighborhood Action, Change NY, and the Joint Council of Kings County Boards of Trade. Theodore’s community involvement was recognized in New York Newsday, the Bay News and various other community papers. After graduating law school, Theodore began the practice of law in the same location where his parents owned a Greek deli. Over the years, his areas of practice have become more specialized, focusing primarily on the practice of divorce & family law. His knowledge and experience as a neighborhood practitioner, has uniquely qualified him to handle a matter not only from a legal perspective, but with a compassion designed to guide the client through the process as smoothly and as stress-free as possible.
Theodore remains active in his community, and has been nominated as a candidate for various public offices, including Brooklyn District Attorney and Brooklyn Borough President, and served as a member of the Public Service Commission Siting Board after having been appointed to the position by Governor Pataki. Theodore resides in Brooklyn with his wife and daughter. He is also fluent in Greek and Spanish.
Asher Taub was born, raised & still lives on the same block that he grew up on in Kew Gardens, Queens. His father was a holocaust survivor from Hungary. He was born at the onset Of World War 2 and was an inmate at the tender age of 5 in the Nazi family Work camp, Thereisenstadt. He came to the United States as a teenager and was a factory worker until An accident forced him to retire. Seeing the inequities & uncaring manner in the way his father was treated After being injured Was a contributing factor in making him want to be a lawyer. He was determined to help others in similar situations.
His mother was born & raised in Cali,Columbia & came to the United States in 1963. He is married and has five children & a granddaughter. He graduated Cum Laude from St. John’s University Law School in 1995. He is also fluent in Spanish. His emphasis in practice is negligence & personal injury law. His understanding of a accident victims plight & determination to protect them from powerful insurance companies desire to deprive them of full compensation for their injuries makes him an effective advocate. Asher has successfully represented hundreds of injured victims. He has the thorough legal knowledge, proven trial experience & effective negotiation skills that provide successful outcomes in his clients behalf.
He has been a member of the NYPD Clergy Liaison program since its inception in 1995. His duties include being the voice of the community and representing their needs and concerns to the NYPD. He is presently a candidate for the congressional seat for the 6th Congressional district of New York.
Both Theodore Alatsas and Asher Taub’s life experience as the children of immigrants gives them a unique appreciation of the challenges many of their clients face. They also have an inherent desire to succeed & help those whose lives have been thrown into turmoil either by the Dissolution of a marriage or the consequences of a serious accident.
